Reconnect with yourself and the closeness you long for

I work with people who feel lost in relationships and self-criticism, helping them gradually regain trust in themselves and the sense that they are enough.

Welcome to my healing space

Life, like a journey through a changing landscape, brings moments of pause and the need to change direction. Perhaps you are in such a moment now – feeling that the old paths no longer serve you, while the new ones are not yet visible. It is a challenging stage. Past wounds may resurface, yet at the same time, a growing desire to live differently is stirring within you.

Even if it feels distant right now, change is possible. My role is to create a space where you can reconnect with your inner compass – the wisdom that already exists within you. In a safe, accepting relationship, step by step, you will find your way to fuller presence and authentic closeness with yourself and others.

Perhaps this is your experience:

Do you feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or low, yet long to regain your energy?

Do you put others’ needs first, but want to take care of yourself?

Do you carry a lot of self-criticism, yet long for trust and kindness toward yourself?

Do you often experience fear and anxiety, while yearning for peace?

Do you invest all your energy into relationships that hurt you?

Are you surrounded by people, yet still feel alone in your experiences?

How can I support you?

There is no single path to growth – each of us needs a different space to feel closer to ourselves. That is why you can choose what feels most meaningful to you right now: a meeting in nature, individual therapy, or joining a group. Notice which of these paths calls to you at this moment.

Walk & Talk

Sometimes, to move forward, you need to start by simply taking a step.

I invite you to Walk & Talk – a gentle, supportive session where the depth of psychotherapy meets the healing power of nature. Walking side by side, surrounded by forests, mountains, fjords, and the coastline, you can discover a path to deeper self-awareness and reclaim your inner balance.

Individual Therapy

In the midst of everyday life, it is easy to lose touch with yourself. Individual therapy provides a moment to pause – a dedicated time for you to safely explore your emotions, thoughts, and body. In this space, you gradually learn to trust yourself, release old patterns, and cultivate healthier, more supportive relationships.

Women’s Gatherings

Women’s Circle

When women gather, something unique unfolds. In a world that so often demands strength and reliability from us, the Women’s Circle becomes a pause – a moment for you. It is a space where you can breathe, feel that you are not alone, and draw energy from being together.

Workshops

Women’s workshops create a space where personal growth blends with the collective energy of the group. In a small, supportive setting, we integrate psychoeducation, body awareness, emotions, and relationships to foster deep, transformative, and truly meaningful change.

Who am I?

My name is Barbara Kotula, and I am a psychotherapist. I work with adults who want to regain trust in their emotions and cultivate deeper, more nourishing relationships – with themselves and others.

I believe true healing is not about fixing yourself, but returning to yourself. To freedom from internal barriers that keep you from living fully. My role is to create a safe, authentic relationship in which this journey becomes possible – at your own pace and in harmony with the natural rhythm of your readiness.

Paradoxically, the more we try to change ourselves, the more we prevent change from occurring. On the other hand, the more we allow ourselves to fully experience who we are, the greater the possibility of change.

The Therapy Process in 4 Steps

1

Beginning: Facing What is Most Difficult

We begin from where you are – your fear, sadness, tension, or sense of being lost. The first step is to ease what troubles you most and give you a moment of relief.

2

Insight:
Noticing and Understanding

We pay attention to your thoughts, emotions, and body. You begin to recognize that your reactions come from past experiences, and that what you feel is understandable and can be made sense of.

3

Breakthrough: Exploration and Change

This stage involves deeper work. We uncover what lies behind your difficulties and explore new ways of responding. Even as you face what hurts, you begin to see that you have choices and real influence over your life.

4

Integration: Autonomy and Strength

We conclude when you feel equipped with the resources and strength to navigate life independently. This is the moment when you move forward with greater self-confidence and healthier relationships.

My Methods

There is no single path to change – each person needs their own space and ways of support. That is why in my work I draw on a variety of approaches that complement one another and together create the foundation for the therapeutic process. Below you will find brief descriptions of the methods that most often accompany us in this journey.

Zielony liść na kamieniach w strumieniu – symbol natury, przepływu i uważności w metodach pracy Barbary Kotuli, psychoterapeutki NARM w Bergen.

NARM™

This is my primary approach for working with relational trauma. It supports gentle healing from past wounds and helps you reconnect with your inner resilience and authentic self.

EMDR

A method recognized by the WHO, EMDR supports the brain’s natural ability to process painful memories. It helps complete trauma responses and restore a sense of inner calm.

The Wisdom of Your Body

Regardless of the method, we always listen to your body. It often holds the key to releasing emotions and opening the way to lasting, deeply rooted change.

FAQ

The first session is a consultation, where you can share your situation, difficulties, and needs. It is also an opportunity to ask questions, express your expectations, and get a sense of whether you feel comfortable working with me.

During the consultation:

  • I ask questions to better understand your needs.
  • Together, we will identify the areas you would like to work on.
  • You will have a chance to see if my approach feels right for you.
  • If you decide to continue, we will agree on the format and frequency of sessions.

The consultation does not commit you to therapy – it is an invitation to connect and explore whether this is the right space for you.

You do not need to prepare anything in particular for this session – it is completely natural if you are unsure “where to begin.” I will guide the conversation with questions and attentive listening, helping you explore what feels most important to you.

I create a calm and safe space where you can be yourself without fear of judgment. I welcome and respect your experiences, culture, and background, while also being mindful of language differences and the unique challenges of living in a foreign country.

Online sessions take place via Google Meet, which does not require creating an account. A few minutes before your scheduled session, you will receive a link by email – simply click to join.

To make the most of your session, try to have a quiet, private space, a stable internet connection, and a working microphone and headphones. It can also help to silence your phone for the duration of the session.

Yes. You can book a single session to see if this form of work feels right for you. Usually, the decision to start therapy is preceded by 2–3 consultations, which allow you to feel how it is to work with me, assess whether you are ready for a deeper therapeutic process, or explore other forms of support that might be helpful for you.

Yes. You do not need to be certain or have a clear definition of your issue. Sometimes it is enough to feel that something in your life “is not working” the way you would like.

During our sessions, there are no taboo topics – you can explore any subject at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

In-person and online sessions last 50 minutes.
